Tricks to wearing bright colours

Think about the red carpet best-dressed lists. It’s rarely the actresses in black who grab the headlines, is it? (Unless you are Liz Hurley and your dress is held together with safety pins) It’s the stars in the super bright shades that get the cameras flashing. And while we don’t recommend you go to work in a fuchsia pink mini dress, it’s worth taking some A-list style tips here @ spoiledbrat.co.uk

Bright colours are not as tricky to pull off as you may think. You don’t need bronzed skin or a size minus two figure. The key to wearing bright colours is balance. Add in a pop of colour here and there to lift a look, but don’t head to toe colour. For example, if you were to style a bright red  blouse with skinny fit trousers and a tailored jacket, the blouse will add a sharp injection of colour to your look, but the classic pieces will keep it from looking to over the top

If that sounds too much, start small with accessories. Blake Lively is a master at this – effortlessly accenting a black dress with a citrus clutch. A scarf or leather gloves are great ways to ease yourself into wearing bright colours.

Don’t be scared – experts say wearing colour gives you the same feeling as when the sun shines – we agree!
Which is a good thing as we enter the dark nights
